The Company
Life Cells specialises in giving parents throughout the European Union and the rest of the world, the opportunity to store life-saving stem cells which are extracted from babies’ umbilical cord blood at the moment of birth. This stem cell-rich blood would otherwise be discarded along with the placenta. The collection of these precious stem cells is a totally safe and painless procedure and takes less than five minutes to complete. After processing in a Class A sterile environment followed by secure storage at a fully regulated and monitored storage location, stem cells can then be available in the future should they be needed. Doctors are now using stem cells to fight a range of serious diseases such as leukaemia and other unexpected childhood cancers and to date there have been over 10,000 umbilical cord blood transplants worldwide.
The Challenge
Life Cells was established by Paul Griffiths based on personal experience of the benefits of the technology offered. With a company based on emerging technology, it was extremely important that the business was launched on the right footing in order to compete in this emerging market.
The Solution

Developing a full strategy moving forwards for the company, Business Doctors facilitated a rebranding from the company’s original name CryoGENESIS to the more market-friendly Life Cells and helped the company develop and build upon its offer, boosting overall effectiveness in targeting the its core markets.
