Bob formed Business Doctors Birmingham in January, 2019 with partner Neil Malcolm, having held varied senior positions in finance and business respectively. As a Chartered Accountant, Neil brings financial know-how and a sound understanding of what makes a company tick while Bob, who is a certified Non-Executive Director with a deep understanding of operations, sales and people management, offers an independent perspective on how to get the best from a business.

In an eclectic career, Chris managed a number of businesses including, ‘The Search Works,’ Europe’s largest search marketing agency, with turnover of £110 million and Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) of £5 million p.a.
Additionally he served on the Executive Board of Swedish listed Tradedoubler AB and handled the sale of its subsidiary to a French listed business.
With extensive business experience both internationally and within the UK, David Jeans is part of the Business Doctors support network, dedicated to helping small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) achieve their goals and aspirations.
David has a strong background in general management at board level, having held a number of director and managing director positions. His commercial acumen, practical nature and people-oriented approach make David an unbeatable ally when it comes to taking an SME forward.

John Nelligan is the Business Doctors master franchise holder for Northern Ireland.
A former industrial engineer, John, 41, is no stranger to the world of franchising. In 2011 he bought a territory from high street garment alterations franchise The Zip Yard. Just one year later he also snapped up Galway and became the company’s first franchisee with multiple businesses. In 2015, he added Douglas to his portfolio.
John is the Business Doctor for Cornwall, a place he knows and loves and where he has made his home.
John joined Business Doctors precisely because they are a support network of experienced business people, passionate about sharing skills and experiences and offering ‘hands-on’ support to business owners so that they can tackle specific challenges or achieve aspirations for growth.
At the tender age of 17, Julian started his first business, landscape gardening, in the suburbs of North London. Although successful, an accident led to a change of career so, in 1979, he started a food distribution business. With zero capital but with much hard work and strong determination to succeed, the business was built, as Julian himself says, ‘brick by brick and by learning through snakes and ladders.’ With no formal training in running a business, Julian decided to take the Cranfield University Business Growth programme which helped him grow the business until it employed 75 people and achieved a £25 million turnover.
Utilising his twenty five years experience in a variety of senior roles, Kevin’s specialist expertise is supporting family owned SME businesses. His career, pre- Business Doctors, saw him help build a family owned retail chain to over 500 staff with a turnover of £45m. His management career, focused on operations, finance, and strategic planning, proved to be an ideal training ground for helping SMEs to overcome the challenges and pitfalls they face when seeking to grow their businesses.

Matt Preece, an experienced senior manager and coach with a CIPD in training practice has established a branch of Business Doctors, the UK’s fastest growing support service for small and medium-sized businesses, in the South East Wales region.

Before becoming a Business Doctor in 2015, Peter built a successful career in construction. This culminated in a ten year role as a director at Kier where he had profit and loss responsibility for three profit centres which had a combined turnover of £70m. Under his management one profit centre grew from £5m to £20m within five years. With an honours degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA, he was ideally qualified to lead these profit centres which had projects ranging from £50k to £45m.
Richard has spent more than thirty years involved with companies of all shapes and sizes, from small family businesses to global multinationals. His objectives are always the same: to understand what makes the businesses tick and to drive improvement. “I believe that the only way to understand what makes a business tick is to roll your sleeves up and get close to the action,” he says.

Rob Andrew Manley
Rob Andrew’s career has spanned both “intra-preneuship” in large corporates to more recently working with a range of start-up and growth companies as well as coaching entrepreneurs.
Holding a PhD in marine science Andrew left academia to pursue a career in sales and marketing with Shell. Andrew credits his completing of an MBA at London Business School on what was laughingly then called the “Part time” Program (now the Executive Program), as giving him the change in direction in to work on a number of intrapreneur start-ups for Shell in the B2B and B2C sectors including domestic gas distribution, and renewable energy and curiously forestry.
Sandra, who lives on the Sussex coast, loves working as a Business Doctor. She spends her days helping small and medium sized businesses to grow and thrive, find funding and better engage their employees. “I’ve developed a very thorough and logical mindset,” she says, “and I know how to listen.”
