As a Business Doctor, I meet owners and managers from many different sectors and hearing them talk about their businesses and what they have achieved is always a pleasure. There are so many good entrepreneur’s out there whose businesses have a unique selling point, them! Talking to people about their business helps to understand what makes them tick and how I can work with them to develop a ‘worth-more’ business with less time in the business and less heartache for them.
For myself, I originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with one of the big 4 accountancy firms and spent over 10 years with them gaining a good grounding in all aspects of corporate life including acquisitions, disposals and business structure and strategy. For the past twenty years I’ve put that theory into practice in a diverse range of businesses from new starts and joint ventures to larger businesses employing up to 1,000 people. All of this and the inevitable up’s and downs which it has provided, has given me my own unique insight into dynamic and growing businesses, experience which I can now bring to bear to help the business owners I now work with. Hopefully they can benefit from the pitfalls I’ve seen, timing is everything in business and appreciating the cycle within which every business operates is always helpful.
I am an accredited advisor for GrowthAccelerator, MAS (Manufacturing Advisory Service), Growth Vouchers, Pera Technology, a Leadership & Management and Finance for business training provider and coach.
I like to relax by getting out into the countryside, hill walking being a favourite. Whilst football and running have ruined my knees, I’m still working my way into cycling, not yet a fully signed up MAMIL!
